She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Darbhanga Medical College in India and completed her residency at the University of Tennessee. She also completed fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Tennessee and Wayne State University in Detroit. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both child and adult psychiatry, and has been with Oaklawn since 1993.
