ASAH (Association of School & Agencies Serving the Handicapped) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1974 and located in New Jersey. We provide highly specialized services to more than 10,000 infants, children, and young adults with disabilities and serve 129 schools and agencies throughout the state. Our mission is to develop policy, promote effective educational practices, foster productive collaborations between private schools, public school districts, and communities, and advocate for legislative and regulatory changes that improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families. We also provide information and referral to anyone seeking appropriate placement of individuals with special needs, and advocate directly for individuals with special needs and their families. Our goal is to foster partnerships between our members, local school districts, and local communities in order to enhance the quality of education programs and ensure that students with disabilities are served in the least restrictive setting.
