The ASSET Program of YFSVA is designed to offer holistic and research-based treatment to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. We strive to improve the individual’s functional behaviors by providing multi-disciplinary clinical services to increase their adaptive functioning, behavioral skills, social skills, and communication skills. Our services also extend to family members, providing them the education, support, and training they need to reinforce their child’s treatment and maintain the changes made while in treatment. Our goal is to empower children and families living with ASD to live engaged, independent, and fulfilling lives.

At YFSVA, our Autism Spectrum Support, Education, and Training (ASSET) Program is proud to offer Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, a science-based approach rooted in the study of learning and behavior. Through ABA, we help children and adults develop communication, social, and daily living skills while also addressing challenging behaviors, with the ultimate goal of achieving independence. To learn more, check out our complete guide to ABA therapy.
At Autism Spectrum Support, Education, and Training (ASSET) Program of YFSVA, we believe that each family should make the best ABA decision for their child. ABA is an evidence-based therapy that looks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. While ABA can be beneficial, it is important to avoid providers who look to “cure” autism. Quality ABA therapy is focused on helping children learn to their fullest potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. To help you make an informed decision about ABA, we have put together a complete guide.
At Autism Spectrum Support, Education, and Training (ASSET) Program of YFSVA, we understand that ABA therapy can be expensive. However, ABA is usually covered by insurance if your child has an autism diagnosis. Insurance will usually only authorize ABA services for those with an autism diagnosis, as its benefits have been extensively researched. Be sure to check with your insurance plan to ensure that your child’s diagnosis is covered for ABA services and that the provider you are seeking care from is in-network.
