Big Lakes Developmental Center, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization established in 1973 dedicated to delivering quality services that promote choice, independence and inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our administrative offices are located in Manhattan, Kansas, where we operate an Adult Training Center, as well as a second Adult Training Center in Clay Center, Kansas. We are supported by county mill levy, federal and state funding and are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Additionally, we own and lease various residential homes and apartments for adults age 16 and over with development disabilities. We are committed to advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and believe that our mission of providing services to this population is of utmost importance.
