At Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center (BRAAC) in Rustburg, our mission is to serve families with unique learning challenges, such as autism and learning disabilities, in the Roanoke Valley. We are a licensed day school for ages 2-22, and provide specialized educational programs, direct and consultative educational services, after-school tutoring and in-home services for children and their families. We are committed to continued professional development for our team, local schools, and community members. Our purpose is to offer a highly structured program for students with learning disabilities and autism, and to provide each student with individual learning experiences to promote their growth and development. Our staff is trained to use a multi-sensory, phonetic approach to teaching reading, writing, spelling, and arithmetic, as well as Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial Therapy. We believe that every student has learning potential and strive to identify, stimulate, and nurture that curiosity.
