At Herman and Dorothy Shooster Nature Preserve, we are dedicated to providing a safe and enriching outdoor experience for the Broward County community. With a history that dates back to the mid-1980s, the property was originally slated to become office buildings, but was purchased through a bond in 2000 and transformed into a beautiful urban oasis with diverse flora and fauna including the vulnerable Florida box turtle. We strive to promote Recreation, Education, and Preservation and are committed to preserving the environmental and cultural heritage of Broward County.
