Building Independence Together (BIT) was founded in December 2016 to meet the growing need for Medicaid providers of Applied Behavior Analysis Services (ABA) in the Lowcountry. Our mission is to serve children and families through encouraging individuality and trauma-responsive ABA services. We use evidence-based practices and research to provide affirming therapy from a philosophy of understanding and compassion. Our supervisors and staff are encouraged to collaborate with the community, and we draw on SLPs, OTS, and other providers for their expertise. BIT provides services throughout Charleston County, Dorchester County, Berkeley County, and Colleton County, and we are continually expanding. We strive to build relationships with schools, advocacy groups, other therapy groups, and local nonprofits in order to create a supportive and compassionate community. We believe that everyone deserves access to understanding and assent-led services.
