At Burnett Speech Therapy, we understand how important it is to recognize the signs that your child may need speech therapy. If your child is autistic, speech therapy is almost always recommended as many individuals with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if your child is very verbal, they may require help in developing communication skills such as responding to questions, starting or ending conversations, changing topics, using gestures, and understanding other people’s body language. Early intervention is key in helping to develop language and communication skills, and we provide a comprehensive guide so that you can have a better understanding of speech therapy and how it can benefit your child. Our guide will help you identify signs that your child may need speech therapy, giving them the opportunity to learn effective ways to communicate, growing into independent and confident individuals.
At Burnett Speech Therapy, we are committed to helping your child reach their communication goals. Our team of experienced speech therapists can assist with nonverbal skills, forming speech in a clearer way, communicating thoughts and feelings, understanding and responding to questions, recognizing facial expressions, discerning body language, feeding, and swallowing. Through our unique approach to speech therapy, we strive to make sure your child can communicate effectively with other people in all environments.
