Camp Akeela is a traditional New England co-ed overnight (sleepaway) camp in Vermont that is designed specifically for “quirky” kids ages 9 – 17, and teens who have completed 10th – 12th grades. Our campers often have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, NVLD (or NLD) or a similar neurodiverse profile, or may be undiagnosed but described as “quirky” with similar characteristics to Level I autism spectrum diagnosis. Within a well-rounded, traditional camp program, Akeela provides a small, supportive community that helps campers improve their social skills and gain newfound self-confidence. We strive to create an environment where all campers can have the time of their lives and leave with valuable skills that stay with them throughout the year. Camp Akeela runs from June 1st through August 31st.
