The Chicago Autism Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to aiding children and families impacted by autism. We were established by a team of pediatric therapists who recognized a need for more support for families with children with autism. Our goal is to make a positive difference in our community through a wide array of programs, such as connecting families with therapy services, offering grants and scholarships, arranging diagnostic evaluations, hosting events for families, and providing resources on autism and developmental delays. We strive to provide the necessary tools for families to help their children lead successful, healthy lives.

At the Chicago Autism Project, we understand the importance of speech therapy for autistic children, especially in the early stages of development. We provide a complete guide to everything you need to know about speech therapy and how to determine if your child needs it. Signs that your child may need speech therapy include difficulty responding to questions, starting or ending conversations, changing conversation topics, and understanding other people’s body language. Speech therapy can help your child learn effective ways to communicate and become more independent and confident. If you have any questions, the Chicago Autism Project is here to help.
At the Chicago Autism Project, our speech therapists can help your child achieve their communication goals. Our speech therapy program focuses on helping your child develop nonverbal skills, such as using signs and gestures, forming speech in a clearer way, communicating thoughts and feelings clearly, understanding and responding to questions, discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions, noticing and understanding body language, and feeding and swallowing. Our therapists also specialize in helping those with stuttering. With our help, your child can learn the skills they need to communicate effectively with other people in all environments.
At Chicago Autism Project, we specialize in providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Our ABA therapy services are grounded in the science of learning and behavior and aim to help individuals develop communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills while also addressing any problematic or challenging behaviors. The goal of ABA therapy is to teach helpful skills that will promote independence and reduce any harmful behaviors. To learn more about ABA therapy and how it can help those with ASD, visit our complete guide on ABA therapy.
At Chicago Autism Project, we understand it’s a big decision to make for your family. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy seeks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. However, be aware of providers who look to “cure” autism. High quality ABA therapy should aim to help people learn all that they can so they can live to their potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. We have a complete guide to help you start and end ABA therapy so you can make the best decision for your family.
