At Children’s Speech and Language Services in Springfield, founded in 2006, we are dedicated to providing quality services to our clients. Our highly qualified therapists, including two PROMPT instructors, specialize in areas such as childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), complicated impaired speech production using the PROMPT system, and the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education’s Orton Gillingham method to improve phonological processing, reading, and spelling. We believe in the importance of quality over quantity, and our sessions are typically 40-53 minutes in length and not dictated by insurance reimbursement. With Ginny Hemmer as the owner and director, our Springfield office operates as a sole proprietorship as opposed to a large corporate entity. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential.

At Children’s Speech and Language Services in Springfield, we understand that it can be difficult to determine whether or not your child needs speech therapy. The best way to know if your child might benefit from speech therapy is to look for signs of difficulty with areas such as social communication, responding to questions, starting or ending conversation, changing conversation topics, using gestures like pointing, and understanding other people’s body language. We also understand that there is a critical period in the brain for language development, and so it is important to assess and intervene as early as possible. Our experienced speech therapists can help identify any delays and will provide effective ways to help your child communicate more confidently and independently.
