The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation is proud to be home to Freedom Park, a municipal park established in 1976. Our park was dedicated to commemorate the Bicentennial Year, and to serve as a reminder of our Nation’s core values of freedom and liberty. The idea to name the park Freedom Park was initiated by students from Myers Elementary School, located just three blocks away. We are proud to honor the legacy of these students and Freedom Park’s important history by providing an enjoyable outdoor recreational experience for all.
