Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) proudly offers the Collaborative Autism Preschool Program (CAPP) in regular elementary schools. Our program is designed to provide students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) a highly structured, individualized, and evidence-based instructional program. Our program goals are to maximize student independence by increasing their academic, language, social, and adaptive skills. All teaching procedures are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and students attend class for six hours and receive approximately four hours of 1:1 discrete trial instruction, and two hours of typical pre-kindergarten experiences in a small group environment daily. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with ASD.
