At the David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, we have been fighting for the civil rights of adults and children with mental disabilities since 1972. We have been instrumental in expanding the civil rights movement to include discrimination and segregation of people with mental disabilities. Our comprehensive approach to advocacy includes litigation, public policy advocacy, coalition building, leadership, public education, media outreach, and technical assistance, all working together to achieve the greatest impact. We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people with mental disabilities and continue to strive for full inclusion and equality.
