She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children aged 2 through 22 years. Dr. Allen's comprehensive approach to assessment includes a parent interview, teacher and/or caregiver interview, observation in the child's natural environment, and individual assessment sessions. She also provides individual treatment to children and adolescents, as well as parent consultation. Dr. Allen's treatment approach involves using principles from evidence-based treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy. She has experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety disorders, life transitions, behavior disorders, attention disorders, learning disorders, and social concerns. Dr. Allen works at her private practice and the Development and Behavior Unit at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
Insurance & payment
Dr. Allen does not contract directly with insurance companies, but will provide a monthly statement that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement if the policy allows.
