The Georgia Department of Public Health | District 4 Public Health | Heard County Health Department is committed to providing the highest quality of care for children under 3 years of age who are at risk of developmental delays, special needs, and chronic health conditions. Our Babies Can’t Wait program is designed to screen these children and evaluate their physical, cognitive, motor, communication, social/emotional and adaptive development. Through a multi-disciplinary approach that works with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, special instructors, and service coordinators, we are able to create intervention plans to help children reach their full potential and prepare them for success in school. As 1 in 6 children in the US have developmental disabilities, we are dedicated to providing early detection and intervention for these conditions, so children can lead healthy, happy lives.
