The Georgia Department of Public Health District 4 Public Health Meriwether County Health Department offers the Babies Can’t Wait program, a comprehensive service for children under 3 years old with special needs, developmental delays or chronic health conditions. Our specialized program provides screenings to evaluate physical and cognitive health, motor skills, communication, social/emotional growth and adaptive development. We are committed to helping children in the United States, many of whom experience delays in language and cognition, by taking a multi-disciplinary approach that combines professional support from physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, special instructors and service coordinators to improve the child’s development potential and meet the family’s needs.
