The Georgia Department of Public Health District 4 Public Health Upson County Health Department’s Babies Can’t Wait program provides comprehensive support for children under 3 years old who have special needs, developmental delays, or chronic health conditions. Our services include screening for developmental concerns, evaluation of physical and cognitive health, motor skills, communication, social/emotional growth and adaptive development. We use a multi-disciplinary approach, working with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, special instructors and service coordinators to maximize the child’s development and meet the family’s needs. Our goal is to help detect and address any developmental delays before they become obstacles for healthy growth, providing the best possible start for children in a critical period of brain development.
