The Georgia Department of Public Health – East Central Health District – Taliaferro County Health Department provides children from birth to age 5 with health, developmental and family-support services. Through Children 1st, the Department works with public, private, and community resources to identify children at risk for poor health and/or developmental outcomes, and offers no-cost, in-home visits to arrange help for their needs. Participation is voluntary, giving parents the freedom to withdraw at any time. With Children 1st, the Department is dedicated to ensuring all of Georgia’s children stay in the best possible health.
