Greg S. Cohen, M.D.

Greg S M D. is a practice that specializes in General Gastroenterology with a special focus on Crohns Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids. Founded by Dr. Cohen, an esteemed board-certified Gastroenterologist and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University, the practice serves the Potomac, Maryland and Chicago, Illinois communities. After completing his undergraduate work at Cornell University and medical school at the University of Maryland, Dr. Cohen moved to Chicago in 1998 to complete his residency at Northwestern, followed by a 4-year combined clinical and research Gastroenterology Fellowship under an NIH training grant at the University of Chicago. In 2005, he established his practice at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and has since become a fellow of both the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Cohen is highly involved in teaching medical students and GI fellows and has been honored with multiple teaching awards from the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen’s practice philosophy is to provide care to his patients the same way he would want any doctor to provide care to him. Appointments are as long as necessary, and he personally responds to phone calls and electronic messages within a few hours. In his spare time, Dr. Cohen enjoys spending time with his family, building model rockets with his children, skiing, and volunteering as camp doctor at summer camps in Wisconsin.
