HMEA’s Autism Resource Central was founded in 1996 by a group of parents to serve as a resource for families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Our mission is to become the central hub for the autism community in Central Massachusetts, providing vital services such as education, family activities, referrals, and support to those affected by ASD. We offer an array of information so that parents and professionals have the resources they need to provide effective support to individuals living with ASD. Funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and administered by HMEA Inc. (Horace Mann Educational Associates, Inc.), our nonprofit organization’s mission is to teach, support and empower people with developmental disabilities and their families to live meaningful lives of their choice.
