The Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities (ICDD) was created in 1974 under a federal mandate as an amendment to the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act). ICDD works to promote the independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion of people with disabilities into the community, ensuring that they have the same opportunities as others. ICDD’s purpose is to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities can participate and be included in everyday life, and have access to the services and supports that best fit their needs. ICDD invests in people and organizations that serve people with disabilities across the State of Illinois.
