Life Skills Centers, INC. is a structured day program designed to help developmentally and physically challenged adults reach their goals through achieving the highest level of independence possible. Through activities that seek to promote independence in areas such as activities of daily living, communication, and socialization, individuals at Life Skills Centers, INC. are able to further develop their skills throughout the day at the facility and through community experiences. Founded in 1981 in Shelby Township under the Northwest Regional Center, Life Skills Centers, INC. has grown to serve 72 individuals, now split between the Shelby Community Life Skills and the Macomb Community Life Skills located in Clinton Township. Macomb Community Life Skills currently serves fifty individuals on a daily basis.
