For 30 years, Dr. Marcia Eckerd, a licensed psychologist, has been working with autistic individuals. She currently serves on the CT ASD Advisory Council and the Clinical Advisory Group of the Asperger’s Autism Network (AANE.org) and is on the Board of Directors at NeuroClastic.org. Furthermore, Dr. Eckerd is a prolific writer and lecturer, authoring several articles on autism for the Journal of Health Services Psychology and blogging for both Psych Central and Psychology Today. She has presented at various workshops, including “Learning and the Brain” and the “Special Kids International Summit”, and has worked to provide an accurate diagnosis to women from all over the US who were previously misunderstood. Dr. Eckerd is a Yale University Magna cum laude and honors graduate, with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the City University of NY, and she completed her internship and fellowship at NY Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. As a leading advocate for the neurodivergent community, Dr. Eckerd has made the world a better, more just and inclusive place.
