Ms. Lauren Allen is a special educator and licensed reading specialist with 10 years of experience in the field of special education. She is committed to working towards educational justice, where all children – regardless of their abilities or disabilities – receive an equitable and culturally responsive education. She helps to bring clarity to the special education process, attending hundreds of IEP meetings and reassuring parents that can be confused, unsure, or intimidated by the process. Her work is deeply rooted in finding transformative solutions for students with disabilities, from informing parents of special education policies to empowering them to take ownership of advocating for their child. Lauren works with families to ensure they are informed, empowered, and prepared for meetings and conversations with schools.
