The National Indian Parent Information Center (NIPIC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Native American families with free information, resources, and workshops on disability issues. Our board of directors consists of a majority of Native American family members who have children and young adults with disabilities. We also have representation from organizations across the United States that serve Indian families. Our services are funded by a grant from the US Department of Education and are designed to empower Native American families to have a voice in the special education process. We offer printed, email, phone and workshop resources to help families understand and navigate disability issues, as well as provide Parent Leadership workshops on and off reservations to Tribes, Nations and Clans. Our mission is to help Native American families make informed decisions about the educational and special needs of their children.
