Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District’s Avanti Center for Girls provides a continuum of shelter, assessment, and residential treatment services for adolescent girls aged 13-18 struggling with mental health crises. The Willows, an on-site school, offers highly individualized education that is coordinated with the student’s home district to minimize educational disruption. As the student progresses in treatment, off-site alternatives are available to facilitate a successful re-integration into a mainstream school setting. Decisions regarding the school setting are made collaboratively between the resident, parents, Willows staff, and Avanti’s treatment team.
