Oasis at Camp Emerson is a 5-day summer camp and family retreat designed for families of children with High Functioning Autism or Aspergers aged 10-17. Held from August 8-12, 2012, Oasis provides a unique experience with camp activities for kids, free time for parents, and family-oriented activities. In the mornings, campers pick activities they would like to do while parents can join in or enjoy their own activities on-site or off-site. Afternoons are reserved for family activities and in the evenings, half of the parents are free to do their own thing while the remainder join campers and staff for fun evening programs. Owned by Sue Lein, a Camp Director with a son with High Functioning Autism, Oasis at Camp Emerson is a place for families to take a much-needed vacation and for kids to experience a safe and understanding camp.
