The Health Education and Advocacy Unit of the Office of the Attorney General provides free mediation services to Maryland residents who have billing or coverage disputes with their healthcare providers, HMOs, or health insurance companies. Our team is here to help if you have been denied enrollment in a Qualified Health Plan, denied Advanced Premium Tax Credits or Cost-Sharing Reductions by Maryland Health Connection, or have a billing dispute with a hospital, doctor, or dentist. We also assist providers in filing complaints against insurance carriers on behalf of their consumers. The services provided by our Health Education and Advocacy Unit are completely free to all consumers, so don’t hesitate to reach out for support.
