Penquis is a nonprofit organization providing essential services to low- and moderate-income individuals throughout Maine. Established in 1967, our mission is to assist individuals and families in preventing, reducing, or eliminating poverty in their lives and to engage the community in addressing economic and social needs. We serve 16 counties, primarily Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox, with our innovative programs and subsidiaries. Through our commitment to helping the community, Penquis is dedicated to alleviating and eliminating the causes and conditions of poverty.
