The Possibilities Program at Grace Christian Academy is an innovative program designed for students with disabilities, such as Autism, Asperger, Down Syndrome and other learning challenges. Our curriculum and environment is enriched with functional skills for real world application, including daily living skills, adapted physical education, differentiated academic program, and opportunities for socialization with same age peers in the mainstream population of the school. We also provide a leisure skills component to help students learn how to occupy their time in meaningful ways. Our Sensory Room is equipped with a Bubble Tower, Fiber Optic Lighting Cables and much more. In addition, we have Speech and OT on the premises, as well as a home setting in the classroom where students are taught how to wash clothes, put them away, make a bed, and sort laundry. Additionally, cooking activities teach students how to safely use the stove, oven, microwave and other household appliances. We are passionate about providing opportunities for growth and success for our students and are excited to offer such an innovative program.

At Possibilities Program, we understand how important it is to identify if a child needs speech therapy. If your child is showing any of the following signs, it’s important to consult a professional: difficulty responding to questions, difficulty starting or ending conversations, difficulty changing conversation topics, difficulty using gestures, difficulty understanding other people’s body language. Speech therapy is a critical part of early intervention for autistic children, so it’s important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible. If you are unsure if your child needs speech therapy, our guide to speech therapy can help you learn more about the process and how to identify if your child needs help.
At Possibilities Program, we understand how important it is for your child to communicate effectively with others. Our speech therapists are dedicated to helping your child develop the skills they need to communicate effectively. Using signs, gestures, verbal speech and AAC, our therapists will work with your child to improve their non-verbal skills, form speech in a clearer way, communicate thoughts and feelings, understand and respond to questions, discern facial expressions and emotions, notice body language, and develop feeding and swallowing skills. With Possibilities Program, your child will gain the communication skills they need to succeed.
