Special Olympics Alaska – Homer

At Special Olympics Alaska – Homer, we strive to provide year-round sports training, athletic competition and community inclusion for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to become accepted and valued members of their communities through physical fitness, skill development, and leadership opportunities. We provide our athletes with the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the local community. We focus on providing our athletes with a safe and healthy environment where they can thrive and grow in all aspects of life. Our volunteers, coaches, and staff are committed to creating a positive, life-changing experience for each of our athletes. The joy, pride, and personal growth that our athletes gain through Special Olympics Alaska – Homer is priceless.
