Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) provides sports programming across all 102 counties of the state, with 11 geographic Regions that organize local level competitions. Region K serves athletes in Alexander, Clay, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Marion, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Richland, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne, White and Williamson counties. Each Region is led by a Region Director, who is supported by a team of individuals responsible for sports programming, fundraising, outreach, communication, and education initiatives. Through these efforts, athletes have the opportunity to compete at their Region Qualifier, and those earning a gold medal may advance to the State Championships.
