About Special Olympics Maine

Special Olympics Maine is a year-round sports training and competition program for adults and children with intellectual disabilities. We provide a unique platform for our 5000+ athletes to challenge themselves and grow through 75+ events held at the local, state, national and international level every year. Our mission is to empower our athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive community for everyone involved. Through our various sports and activities, we strive to promote acceptance and respect for all individuals with intellectual disabilities.
