Special Olympics Michigan- Area 9 is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We provide a supportive environment for our athletes to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy while participating in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship among their families, Special Olympics athletes and the community. Our athletes are able to achieve their dreams thanks to the support of caring volunteers, coaches, family members and staff. The program is funded by generous donations from Michigan citizens and businesses.
