At Special Olympics South Dakota, we are dedicated to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition for children (8 years and older) and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to encourage physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and foster a sense of community through the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship amongst our athletes, their families and the community. We believe that people with intellectual disabilities are capable of learning, enjoying and benefitting from individual and team sports with the proper instruction and encouragement.
