T.H.E. Center, Inc. is a therapeutic horsemanship program that was founded in 1984 by Teresa Wilhelm with one student, two horses, and the community’s support. Our mission is to improve the cognitive, physical, and psychological abilities of individuals in a professional, safe, and nurturing environment. Since our founding, we have served over 2,000 students and provided more than 93,840 hours of services. We strive to create a therapeutic experience that enables our clients to develop a strong emotional connection with the horses while overcoming physical, mental, or emotional challenges. Our program utilizes a variety of techniques, including equine-assisted activities, equine-assisted psychotherapy, and cognitive-behavioral strategies, to create a tailored experience to fit the individual needs of each client.
