TEACCH, founded in 1972 by Dr. Eric Schopler, is a University-based system of community regional centers offering a wide range of core services and unique demonstration programs addressing the clinical, training, and research needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families, and professionals across the state of North Carolina. Our services include initial referral and consultation, diagnostic evaluations, family consultation sessions, parent support groups, social play and recreation groups, individual counseling for higher-functioning clients, and employment services. TEACCH also provides training nationally and internationally and consultation for teachers, residential care providers, and other professionals from a variety of disciplines, as well as conducts psychological, educational, and biomedical studies.
