The Wilmington TEACCH® Center provides comprehensive services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in the southeastern region of North Carolina. Our services include diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning and implementation, education, consultation, training opportunities, and research. Founded by Dr. Eric Schopler in 1972, the TEACCH Autism Program is a model for other programs around the world and provides clinical services such as initial referral and consultation, diagnostic evaluations, family consultation sessions, parent support groups, social play and recreation groups, individual counseling for higher-functioning clients, and employment services. In addition, TEACCH also conducts training nationally and internationally, provides consultation for teachers, residential care providers, and other professionals from a variety of disciplines, and conducts psychological, educational, and biomedical research. With our University-based system of community regional centers, we strive to meet the clinical, training, and research needs of individuals with ASD, their families, and professionals across North Carolina.
