The Autism Council of Rochester, Inc. was established in 2005 as a labor of love by its volunteer executive director, Lawana Jones. This organization was founded in response to the lack of support services and programs available to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) transitioning from high school to the adult community in the Rochester area. The Autism Council of Rochester strives to bridge the gap between special education programs and the adult world by offering support to families and advocating on behalf of ASD children.
