The Center for Accessible Technology (CforAT) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1983 by a group of parents of children with disabilities. CforAT provides access to assistive technology that gives people with disabilities access to computers, offers art programs and provides ongoing consultation and support. CforAT’s Adult Services Division staff are experts in creating solutions to difficulties people with disabilities may have in using computers. They provide services to clients of the Department of Rehabilitation, to employees of companies, and through their Up and Running Program. Access Studio is a place where people with disabilities and people without disabilities can work together to create art projects. CforAT services are tied to educational strategies and provide a diverse range of services to support the IEP goals of children with disabilities.
