Have questions?

At the Munroe-Meyer Institute, we understand the importance of speech therapy for autistic children. Our guide will help you determine if your child needs speech therapy, and how to get the best results. We’ll discuss the benefits of speech therapy, such as improved social communication, responding to questions, starting or ending conversations, changing conversation topics, using gestures, understanding body language, and more. We’ll also talk about the importance of early intervention, as there is a critical period in the brain for language development that you don’t want to miss. Speech therapy can help your child become more independent and confident, and our guide will provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision.

At The Munroe-Meyer Institute, speech therapy is designed to help children develop their communication skills. Our speech therapists work to improve verbal speech, nonverbal skills, expression of thoughts and feelings, understanding of body language and facial expressions, as well as feeding and swallowing. With the help of our certified professionals and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, we strive to provide children with the tools needed to communicate effectively in all environments.
