Think Social East Bay is a safe learning environment for children, teens, and adults to acquire social skills through direct instruction, reasoning, and practice. Our social learning concepts are based on the work of Michelle Garcia Winner, who has pioneered the way we teach social skills to those with social cognitive deficits. We practice social learning concepts in real-world settings such as bookstores, grocery stores, restaurants, parks, and more. Our approach focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is more effective than a behaviorally-based social skill “training” approach. We believe that social learning precedes the social skill!
