Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities lead independent lives. Founded in 1979, we were the first organization in the state with a majority of board and staff members with disabilities. We are proud to say that 80% of our staff and 92% of our board are people with significant disabilities, providing a unique understanding of the needs of those we serve. VCIL’s main office is in Montpelier and we have five branch offices located in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Morrisville and Rutland, serving all of Vermont. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
