Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 that is directed and staffed by people with disabilities. VCIL is the only Center for Independent Living in Vermont and serves all of the state. We are proud to be the first organization in the state with a majority of both our board and staff consisting of individuals with disabilities. Currently, 80% of our staff and 92% of our board identify as having significant disabilities. At VCIL, we understand the importance of helping others and strive to provide meaningful support. Our headquarters is located in Montpelier and we offer five branch offices in Bennington, Brattleboro, Burlington, Morrisville and Rutland.
